We take protecting and offering support to children and young people very seriously.

There are two people at our church who you can talk to if you are ever worried about anything - these are
known as Child Advocates. They are Freda Hart and Jean Trent.
If you would like to, email them here…

Walsgrave Baptist Church subscribes to the Baptist Union's Safe To Grow policies for the protection of children which are based on the UK Government Home Office's Code of Practice - Safe From Harm
ChildLine is the free, 24-hour helpline for children and young people in the UK. Children and young people can call our helpline on 0800 1111 about any problem, at any time - day or night. Children who are deaf or find using a regular phone difficult can try the textphone service on 0800 400 222. ChildLine's counsellors are there to help you find ways to sort things out.
ChildLine is confidential - which means they won't tell anyone about your call unless you want ChildLine to talk to somebody for you, or you are in danger.
Their lines can be busy but please keep trying and you will get through.

confidential online advice for teenagers

If you've got worries or need some advice, There4me.com can help. The site is for all 12-16 year-olds living in the British Isles. It's to help you find solutions to your problems. There's on screen advice about all sorts of things...bullying, relationships, exams, drugs, difficulties at home, to name just a few. Or you can send an e-letter to Sam, their agony aunt. If you'd prefer a confidential private session, you can talk 1-2-1 in 'real time' with an NSPCC adviser, or e-mail for reply within 24 hours. You don't have to say who you are - you stay in control.
